Responsibilities
- Perform musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound examinations, including joints, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue assessments
- Perform general diagnostic ultrasound exams as needed (abdominal, small parts, vascular, OB/Gyne)
- Collaborate with referring physicians to clarify clinical questions related to ordered imaging
- Communicate imaging findings with interpreting radiologists to support accurate diagnoses
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment; ensure exam rooms meet infection prevention and safety protocols
- Review patient medical charts prior to examinations to understand clinical context
- Perform real time image quality review before submission to the interpreting radiologist
- Support the onboarding and mentorship of new sonographers or students as needed
- Maintain continuing education requirements and stay current with best practices in MSK imaging
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Sonography Canada CRGS credential (required)
- ACMDTT registration in good standing (required)
- Minimum 1 year of diagnostic sonography experience (required)
- Demonstrated competency in MSK ultrasound
- Strong attention to image quality and detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a clinical setting
