De Mello Coffee is proud to be opening its first ever shop in Kingston, in beautiful Market Square. We are looking for a talented, customer-focused barista to join our team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, seasonal drinks, brewed coffee, and teas
- Provide exceptional customer service with speed and precision
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, adhering to health and safety standards
- Assist in opening and closing duties
- Educate customers on our coffee offerings, origins, retail coffee beans and brew methods
- Operate our POS system and handle transactions accurately
Key Qualifications:
- Customer-first: you are 100% committed to treating customers with a positive, personalized and friendly approach. This is absolutely essential for us.
- Previous barista or specialty coffee experience is highly preferred (it is not required if you’re eager to learn, have an exceptional attitude and are otherwise able to work in a cafe environment)
- Passion for coffee and willingness to grow in coffee knowledge
- Strong communication skills and team mindset
- Punctual, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Available mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
