Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with roofing projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Carry and position roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, or membranes
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople with tasks including framing, sheathing, and flashing installation
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment necessary for roofing projects
- Read and interpret blueprints or project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing of roofing components
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment at all times
Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, or handyman work is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods
- Knowledge of blueprint reading is advantageous but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with caulking techniques and waterproofing methods is a plus
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail are essential
- Prior experience in roofing or related construction fields is beneficial but not mandatory
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety standards
