The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Your challenge!

Our mill in Trenton, Ontario, which is located on the bank of the Trent River, boasts a 90 year history. We are looking for a dynamic Production Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be directly responsible for initiating and leading projects for continuous improvement (5S, SOP development, training and safety), cost savings and reliability. You are an effective leader and can build on relationships to strengthen operational competencies. You will be responsible for outage planning for the department and will provide solutions for equipment and process problems. You will support the Work Order system in addition to modifying any process changes that are deemed necessary. The day to day workload will include working with the Paper Machine, Fibre Furnishing, Pulp Mill, Steam Plant, and maintenance teams closely to provide an effective service delivery model. You will ensure a high standard of integrity while working with our external resources to provide the best pricing in the scope of the work provided. You will assist in the implementation and planning of capital projects.

Grade 12 diploma required, post-secondary education preferred

3-5 years of related work experience preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment

Technical competencies

Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Ability to work shift work, overtime and be on-call as necessary
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP
Must have or establish residence within 20 minutes of our mill
