Behind the scenes, Snaplii operates real payment infrastructure at scale. Together with our merchant payment business, our platform supports thousands of merchants and processes billions of dollars in transaction volume across North America.Today, we are expanding beyond consumer fintech and building the infrastructure layer for the next generation of AI-native commerce and programmable payments.
As we continue to scale, compliance is not a back-office function — it is a core part of how we launch products, partner with banks, and build trust in the financial ecosystem.
We're not looking for a traditional compliance manager.
We're looking for a hands-on operator who has worked inside fintech, payments, digital wallets, or banking environments and enjoys solving real compliance and AML challenges.
This role is ideal for someone who still likes being close to the work — engaging with banks, supporting audits, reviewing AML processes, and helping launch new financial products.
Serve as a key compliance resource for Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements
Maintain and enhance AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and reporting programs
Support FINTRAC compliance obligations, audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries
Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business requirements
Work directly with banks, PSPs, and financial partners during onboarding, reviews, and ongoing compliance assessments
Complete due diligence questionnaires and compliance reviews for new and existing partnerships
Respond to compliance requests from banking partners and payment providers
Help explain new products, payment flows, and business models to external stakeholders
Support MSB, PSP, and other licensing requirements across Canada and the United States
Coordinate filings, renewals, reporting obligations, and audit requests
Maintain compliance documentation, policies, and operating procedures
Partner closely with Product, Risk, Operations, and Engineering teams
Review new features, payment flows, and growth initiatives from a compliance perspective
Help the business launch faster while maintaining regulatory integrity
Provide practical compliance guidance rather than simply identifying risks
3+ years of compliance, AML, risk, or regulatory experience
Experience working in fintech, payments, digital wallets, banking, crypto, or other regulated financial services environments
Strong understanding of:
Experience interacting directly with banks, payment processors, or financial partners
Comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to balance regulatory requirements with business growth objectives
Bonus Points
Experience with FinCEN, U.S. MSB, or MTL requirements
Experience working with PSPs such as Stripe, Adyen, Paysafe, or similar providers
Experience supporting wallet products, stored value products, prepaid programs, or cross-border payments
Previous startup or high-growth fintech experience
CAMS certification
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building rather than maintaining.
You'll likely enjoy this opportunity if:
You prefer solving real compliance problems instead of sitting in endless meetings
You like working directly with founders, operators, and product teams
You enjoy taking ownership and figuring things out independently
You want meaningful influence on a fast-growing fintech platform rather than being one of hundreds of compliance employees at a large bank
If you're looking for a highly structured corporate environment with multiple layers of approvals, this role is probably not the right fit.
If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and helping build the future of payments, we'd love to speak with you.
