The selected candidate will collaborate with and potentially lead a design team, with varying levels of responsibility dependent on their experience and skill set. The objective is to deliver successful, energy-efficient, and sustainable plumbing and mechanical projects to our clients, adhering to industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct design calculations for plumbing and mechanical system design.
- Produce plumbing and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Select and size appropriate plumbing and mechanical equipment.
- Develop and revise specifications for plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Review plumbing and mechanical drawings for comprehensiveness and coordination with other disciplines.
- Perform onsite assessments of existing systems for coordination and design.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings.
- Foster current client relationships and develop new ones.
- Perform various other tasks as assigned by the manager or team leader related to project design and construction administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- University degree or college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD in plumbing and mechanical design.
- Proficiency in reading Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical drawings.
- Ability to multitask and adhere to project deadlines.
- Prior experience in building design and construction administration.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Revit in plumbing and HVAC modeling.
- Supervision and mentoring of junior staff within the design team.
- On-site plumbing and mechanical experience.
- Experience dealing with site-related construction correspondence (RFI's, issuing site instructions, etc.)
- Experience in client management and quality control procedures.
- Experience in public and private sector project design across various market sectors.
