CAD Technician - Mission, BC
Our client is looking for a skilled CAD Technician to join their dynamic metal processing and custom fabrication team. This role involves creating detailed technical drawings, optimizing production processes, and ensuring precision in fabrication projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the shop floor to support efficient operations and maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Produce production-ready designs, including 2D AutoCAD layouts, Fusion360 flat patterns, and DXF files from templates.
- Optimize material usage by managing nesting and programming, setting efficient cut sequences, and configuring plasma table amperages.
- Ensure quality control by verifying material allocations, reviewing drawings for accuracy, and tracking Mill Test Reports (MTR).
- Assist in coordinating shop floor schedules by grouping jobs based on material thickness and grade for maximum efficiency.
- Provide real-time technical support to plasma cutting operators to troubleshoot programming and operational issues.

Qualifications:
- Technical diploma, certificate, or degree in Drafting, Design, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Autodesk Certified Professional credential preferred.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in technical drafting within an industrial fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Fusion360 for creating precise 2D layouts, flat patterns, and forming PDFs.
- Experience with CNC plasma programming, including DXF file generation, G-code, nesting optimization, and bevel adjustments.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, Mill Test Reports (MTR), and shop geometry math.
