Who Are We Looking For?
This is a leadership position. We are hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager for our Bayshore Shopping Centre store in Ottawa. This position requires past leadership experience and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of dedicated employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations of a busy retail store in a major shopping mall
- Assist in coaching, directing, motivating and inspiring store employees
- Assist in recruiting and training new employees
- Attend to customers with enthusiasm, maturity, and strong product knowledge
- Respond to customer communications over email and telephone
- Generate sales and control expenses as guided by senior management
- Maintain and enhance in-store product merchandising
- Receive and process shipments from product suppliers
- Order in-store supplies as required
- Assist with managing social media, company website and other marketing activities
- Prepare and perform bi-weekly bank deposits
- Occasional drop-off and pick-up of engraving orders
- Work as a team with senior management and other employees
Requirements
- Experience in a retail leadership role in a professional retail environment
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and/or strong interest in Canadian and Indigenous artisanal products
- Availability to work 25 to 40 hours per week
- University or college education
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
