Beacon Pet Hospital is seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative to join our team. This role is an important part of the daily flow of the hospital and helps ensure clients and patients feel welcomed, supported, and well cared for from the moment they contact or arrive at the clinic.
The successful candidate will be comfortable communicating with clients in person, by phone, and in writing, while managing appointments, maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations. Strong written communication, including attention to spelling, grammar, accuracy, and professional tone, is important in this role.
Previous experience in a veterinary, medical, animal care, or client service environment is an asset, but we are also open to applicants with transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn.
This position is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy client-facing environment.

Duties
- Welcome clients and patients in a warm, professional, and compassionate manner
- Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and provide accurate information about hospital services
- Schedule appointments and help manage the clinic calendar
- Assist with patient check-ins, check-outs, and client flow throughout the day
- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information as needed
- Process invoices, payments, estimates, and billing accurately
- Communicate with clients regarding appointments, prescription refills, follow-up care, and general pet care instructions
- Prepare clear written communications, client notes, and appointment details with attention to spelling, grammar, accuracy, and tone
- Support veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and other team members with daily hospital operations
- Assist with basic laboratory or veterinary support tasks when appropriate and within training level
- Help keep the reception area clean, organized, and professional
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in veterinary reception, medical reception, animal care, or customer service is considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable speaking with clients in person and over the phone in a professional and compassionate manner
- Strong spelling, grammar, and attention to accuracy in written communication
- Compassionate and professional approach with clients, patients, and team members
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Comfortable using computers, scheduling software, and electronic medical records
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Professional communication and conduct suitable for a client-facing role
Compensation
Wage: $19.50–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
