True North Hospitality is looking for a dependable and skillful leader to join our team.
True North Hospitality (TNH) serves as the operating partner for Hargrave Street Market (HSM) featuring multiple culinary concepts under one roof. We are seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee day-to-day operations and leadership for several food concepts. The GM will lead a dynamic and talented team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while driving operational excellence and business performance.
The GM will work closely with culinary leadership, operations managers, tenant partners, building management, and corporate stakeholders to ensure HSM remains a vibrant destination for guests, tenants and the community.

Leadership & Management

Provide overall leadership and direction for all HSM operations.

Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and operational strategies.

Financial Management

Analyze sales trends, labor costs, food costs, and operating expenses.

Approve purchasing and capital expenditures within established guidelines.

Review financial reports and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Ensure compliance with company financial controls and reporting requirements.
Guest Experience

Champion a guest-first culture throughout the market.

Monitor guest feedback and implement improvement initiatives.

Resolve escalated guest concerns and service recovery situations.

Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional hospitality standards.
Human Resources & Talent Development

Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of management staff.

Address performance issues through coaching and corrective action processes.

Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Culinary & Food Service Oversight

Partner with culinary leadership to ensure food quality and consistency.

Monitor menu performance and profitability.

Support innovation and development of food and beverage offerings.

Ensure food safety standards are always maintained.

Review production and inventory management practices.
Health, Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor, and food handling regulations.

Maintain a safe environment for guests, employees, and vendors.

Lead emergency response planning and incident management.
-
Conduct regular facility inspections and operational audits.
-
Ensure all required certifications and permits remain current.
Marketing & Business Development
-
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns.

Identify opportunities to increase traffic and guest spending.
-
Support community engagement and partnership initiatives.
-
Analyze market trends and competitor activity.
-
Develop strategies to strengthen HSM's market position.
Reporting & Administration
-
Prepare operational, financial, and performance reports.
-
Present business updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
What we need from you:

5+ years of experience in a similar organization.

Strong leadership and people management abilities.

Excellent financial and business acumen.

Proven experience managing multi-unit food and beverage operations.

Strong understanding of hospitality, retail, and market-style operations.

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of food safety, liquor regulations, and labor legislation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with POS, inventory, scheduling, and financial reporting systems.
