Position Overview:
We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll ensure that all plant equipment and systems are running smoothly and efficiently through timely maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Replace, rebuild, and adjust machine components (bearings, shafts, rollers, belts, seals, etc.)
- Install, align, and balance equipment using precision measurement tools (dial indicators, laser alignment, micrometers)
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned breakdowns
- Conduct welding, cutting, and machining (lathe, milling, drill press) when required
- Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, and motors
- Dismantle, fabricate, and reassemble parts for repairs and modifications
- Support installation and commissioning of new production lines and equipment upgrades
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders accurately
- Operate hoists, cranes, forklifts, and jacks safely for equipment handling
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures (LOTO, confined space, PPE)
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and equipment malfunctions immediately
- Collaborate with production teams to improve efficiency and minimize downtime
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Completion of secondary school (Millwright Trade Certification an asset)
- Minimum 3 years of industrial or mechanical maintenance experience
- Forklift certification preferred
- Welding knowledge an asset
- Ability to lift 25–45 lbs regularly
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
