Description:
We currently have an immediate career opportunity for an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our Utilities HR group. The successful candidate will bring initiative and commitment and will be eager to apply their skills in an exciting and challenging area.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources this position will develop and implement HR plans and strategies aligned with business plans to meet the needs of the client group; anticipate and determine people requirements to address potential business challenges to achieve business objectives; facilitate discussions within the client group in support of people planning and implementation. Identify gaps or inconsistencies between the business plan and Human Resources programs and work with the business in conjunction with other HR functional partners to resolve those issues.

Responsibilities:
Partner with business leaders to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through HR practices, processes, or policies. Counsel/coach business leaders on the most effective solutions to resolve issues and support long-term objectives.
Using established change management techniques, support the ongoing transformation within ATCO.
Oversee implementation of all HR processes including workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation, disability management and labour relations.
Work with business leaders and the HR centers of excellences (COE) to promote a high-performance, results driven culture with the implementation of new HR initiatives and programs
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective thorough and objective investigations. Lead and participate in the grievance process.
Lead and/or participate on HR committees and projects.

Qualifications:
Influential and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated sound judgment and decision making.
Ability to interact with all levels of management.
Demonstrates a general understanding of Employment Standards, Compensation, Labour Relations, and other aspects of HR.
Proven ability to work effectively and professionally in a dynamic environment while managing multiple client demands and priorities.
Strong relationship building skills with a customer service focus.

Education and Experience:
Post-secondary degree in Business Administration/Commerce complemented with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional level human resources role, preferably as a Business Partner. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
