All In for Youth is a city-wide initiative focused on school completion. The initiative aims to reduce the high school dropout rate in Calgary. This is a United Way led initiative involving community partners, corporate partners and philanthropic investors. The key focuses of All In for Youth are to keep Calgary’s youth in school, bring youth back to school and set up youth for success to continue their education. All In for Youth strives to connect youth to positive adults, remove barriers to success and to continue to change attitudes and behaviours.

With support and direction from the All In for Youth Coordinators, responsibilities of an All In for Youth Practicum Student include but are not limited to:

  • Building a positive relationship with students and staff of identified schools
  • Facilitating and strengthening school engagement for identified students
  • Assisting with program documentation, preparation of reports, and supporting evaluation activities where deemed appropriate.
  • Possessing an understanding of services for youth and referral processes

You Have:
  • Strong interpersonal communication with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds and an understanding and awareness of diversity issues
  • Resourceful, energetic, creative, and self-directed
  • Knowledge of basic developmental needs of youth
  • Availability during school hours, Monday to Friday
  • A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Search Sector and Intervention Record Check (will be completed upon acceptance into the program.)
