Vice-President, Global Corporate Communications

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Strategy, Marketing and External Relations, you will be responsible for the leadership and direction of corporate public relations policies, objectives and strategic directions, and implementing communications and marketing strategies so as to optimize and maintain a balance between SNC-Lavalin’s corporate communications objectives and the specific communications criteria and needs of the organization’s operational business units.

You will assume leadership of corporate social responsibility, including reputational risk management. As a member of the Marketing, Strategy and External Relations management committee, your contribution will take the form of strategic thinking and a clear vision of the stages leading to the achievement of SNC-Lavalin’s business objectives. You will be responsible for: ensuring that external communications strategies result in positive and efficient public relations and marketing actions; maintaining good relations with the community and the media; encouraging the development of dynamic strategies and overseeing their implementation at the local, national and international levels; establishing and further developing professional relations with external interest groups as well as with the various industry partners; and ensuring consistency and employee engagement via internal communications. You will also coordinate the President and CEO’s participation in all activities and corporate events where his presence is required.

Optimal profile

Bachelor’s or university degree in a related field; an MBA would be a major asset;
At least twenty-five (25) years’ experience in progressively senior leadership positions, culminating in a senior execution position;
Ability to communicate clearly and convincingly with all internal and external stakeholders, while commanding the respect and the support of peers;
Demonstrated ability to oversee the strategic implementation of programs and brand image, efficient communications and marketing communications strategies, along with KPIs and dashboards;
Experience working with the media (including financial media), ad agencies, agencies specialized in new interactive media, and public relations agencies;
Ability to comfortably interact with a company’s senior management and its various operational and hierarchical levels, as well as internationally. Understanding of a company listed on a stock exchange;
Strategic thinking and a broad perspective, while being detail-oriented, and with strong organizational skills;
Exceptional interpersonal skills, team player with communications and presentation skills, able to exercise a unifying leadership;
Excellent skills in managing difficult or complex situations, including crises;
Knowledge of widely used computer tools;
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written);
