THE ROLE:
Are you an experienced Financial Reporting Manager open to a great contract opportunity with a growing and dynamic Edmonton-based client? If so, this could be a great role for you. Our client is seeking a hands-on accounting leader to oversee complex financial reporting operations within a growing and evolving organization. As the financial reporting manager your responsibilities will include:
Lead and mentor a team of two financial reporting professionals
Oversee consolidated reporting for approximately 80 entities
Review team deliverables and work hands‑on to ensure accuracy and completeness
Support the development of the 2027 budget, forecasts, and Board reporting packages
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deliver timely and meaningful financial insights
ABOUT YOU:
You are a technically strong accounting professional with deep experience in consolidated reporting and a strong command of ASPE. You bring a leadership approach that is collaborative, supportive, and detail‑driven. You’re confident managing both people and complex reporting processes, and you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves to work directly alongside your team. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively across functions and prepare high‑quality external and internal reporting materials.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
CPA designation
Extensive multi-entity consolidation experience, including large and complex corporate structures
Strong knowledge and practical application of ASPE
Public practice background with experience using CaseWare
Budgeting and forecasting experience
Proven leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing teams
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
Experience with Great Plains is considered an asset
