Lead Coordinator / Receptionist – Hair Salon

We are looking for a Lead Coordinator / Receptionist to join our salon team. This is a key front-of-house position for someone who is organized, confident, personable, and comfortable taking the lead in a fast-paced salon environment.
The Lead Coordinator is responsible for creating an exceptional client experience while overseeing the day-to-day flow of the front desk. You will be the first point of contact for our guests and an important support system for our stylists and salon management.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome clients with a warm, professional, and friendly attitude
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, online inquiries, and appointment requests
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments
- Manage client deposits, payments, and transactions accurately
- Maintain an organized and efficient front desk
- Monitor the salon schedule and help coordinate the flow of appointments throughout the day
- Communicate with stylists regarding client needs, timing, and schedule changes
- Handle client questions, concerns, and service-related inquiries professionally
- Assist with resolving client concerns and escalate issues to management when needed
- Help maintain salon policies and ensure they are communicated consistently to clients
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Keep the reception, retail, and client areas clean, organized, and welcoming
- Support the team with retail sales, product recommendations, and promotions
- Assist stylists with day-to-day salon tasks as needed, including preparing stations, shampooing clients when appropriate, assisting with colour preparation and clean-up, organizing supplies, cleaning tools and work areas, and helping maintain an efficient salon environment
- Assist with laundry, towels, capes, and general salon upkeep
- Help ensure stylists have the supplies and products they need throughout the day
- Support stylists with client preparation and transitions between services
- Help train and support other front desk team members when required
- Assist management with daily administrative tasks and salon operations
- Help ensure the salon runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the day
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a salon, spa, hospitality, customer service, or reception environment is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including organizing information, maintaining spreadsheets, and basic data entry
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new booking and POS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
- Professional, positive, and welcoming personality
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable handling payments and financial transactions
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
- Previous salon experience and familiarity with professional hair products and salon operations is an asset
