Enjoy part-time work at a bustling dance studio in the heart of Old Strathcona at Sugar Swing Ballroom!
We are looking for a bartender to work on Friday nights or Saturday nights at our studio’s small bar. The focus of the studio is that of social dancing (Lindy Hop). The events are typically deejayed, with monthly live music. They must keep the bar orderly, efficient, and tidy. Being accommodating of the needs and preferences of our customers, and serving them well, is essential. Experience in the industry is not required, but it is recommended that they have some experience with mixing drinks such as an Old Fashioned, Mojito, or Dark & Stormy.
Shifts are typically 7pm-11:30pm Fridays, 7pm-12:30am Saturdays
Duties
- Take orders, handle sales
- Mix and serve drinks
- Observe AGLC rules and guidelines regarding service and consumption
- Cashing out, sales reports
- Pickup empty bottles, glasses, and cans in hall
- Empty bar trash & recycle bins
- Sweep & mop bar area, wipe & dust counters
- Regular fridge & shelves cleaning & stocking
- Setup & takedown of display items & menu
- Cleaning (floors, garbages, washrooms)
Requirements
- Proserve (within 30 days of hiring)
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Valid drivers license (recommended)
Part-time
- Shifts may end early on occasion on smaller nights
Experience: Bartending: 3 months (Recommended)
