Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to oversee the coordination and management of transportation operations within our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient dispatching, maintaining communication with drivers and clients, and optimizing freight movement. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and excellent communication abilities to support our supply chain and third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
We are currently hiring a Dispatch and Customs Clearance Coordinator for both Day and Night shifts.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in dispatch and customs clearance (MUST)
- Strong knowledge of:
- TransPlus
- TMS (Transportation Management System)
- LoadLink
- BorderConnect
- Samsara
- Ability to manage cross-border shipments (Canada & USA)
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Shifts Available:
Responsibilities:
- Dispatching drivers and coordinating loads
- Managing customs clearance documentation
- Monitoring shipments and tracking drivers
- Communicating with brokers, drivers, and customers
- Updating systems and maintaining accurate records
- Manage daily dispatch activities using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as SyteLine and AS400 to schedule and track freight shipments.
- Coordinate with drivers, clients, and warehouse staff to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.
- Monitor shipping & receiving processes to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Utilize data entry skills to update shipment statuses, maintain logs, and generate reports for analysis.
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for process improvement.
- Oversee freight management, including scheduling, routing, and load planning to optimize resource utilization.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating strong phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline logistics workflows and improve overall service levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during dispatch operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation management systems such as SyteLine, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Experience working with 3PL providers is preferred.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in typing and multi-line phone systems is essential.
- Analytical skills to interpret operational data and generate actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
