Position Summary:
· Responsible for assisting in winning bids.
· Responsible for reviewing data and documents
Tasks & Responsibilities:
· Analyze drawings and specifications
· Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
· Understand contractual terms and conditions
· Assemble estimates and proposals
· Provide clear and detailed quantity take offs.
· Prepare and send out sub-contractor tender packages
· Organize sub-contractor’s quotations
· Draft budgets and schedules for projects
· Meet with potential clients to generate sales
· Increasing company revenue through increased sales volumes and procurement of construction projects.
· Maintain a favorable and effective relationship with current customers
· Assist senior estimator when required
· Source out new/potential supplies and sub-contractors
Competencies:
· Understand, read and interpretation of drawings and specifications
· Understand means and methods of construction associated with the structural steel construction and commercial buildings typical throughout Western Canada.
· Clear and fluent knowledge of computers and experience working with spreadsheets
· Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills
· Working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work, and their respective drawings
· Create 3D visualization of the end product and knows how to get there
· Understand the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules
· Working knowledge of the cost of goods and services, ability to solicit, evaluate and manage the price, schedule, and quality objectives of individual projects
· Working knowledge of project specification books
· Familiarity with the various Provincial tender closing submittal programs
· Familiarity with various programs for accessing new calls to tender

Prerequisites:
Education
· High School Diploma
· Post-Secondary schooling within the construction field
· 2+ years’ experience working in the construction industry.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Able to multitask
