Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our growing team at Salyx Health. We are seeking a motivated and resourceful individual who enjoys combining technical knowledge with business development and customer engagement. In this role, you will help identify new business opportunities, support client relationships, and work closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients by providing technical information, responding to inquiries, and supporting the sales process for the company's products and services.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying potential customers, researching market opportunities, qualifying leads, and assisting with client outreach and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to understand technical specifications and translate customer requirements into practical product and service solutions.
- Prepare technical sales materials, quotations, proposals, presentations, and product documentation to support customer engagement and business development efforts.
- Participate in client meetings, product demonstrations, and technical discussions to explain product capabilities, address customer concerns, and support sales negotiations.
- Assist customers in evaluating technical requirements and recommend suitable products, components, or engineering solutions based on their operational needs.
- Support the mechanical engineering department with enclosure design projects by coordinating technical requirements, reviewing specifications, and facilitating communication between suppliers, engineers, and customers.
- Identify, evaluate, source, and validate suppliers and technical components to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Manage engineering purchase orders and coordinate procurement activities with suppliers, including pricing discussions, order tracking, delivery schedules, and issue resolution.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain effective working relationships with vendors to support project timelines and customer commitments.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, quotations, supplier communications, purchase orders, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify emerging industry trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product and business growth.
- Support cross-functional teams in the execution of customer projects by ensuring technical requirements, procurement activities, and client expectations are effectively communicated and addressed.
- Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business development updates for management review.
Knowledge and Skills
- Completion of a diploma or bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technology Management, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Technical Sales Specialist, Technical Sales Representative, Business Development Representative, Sales Engineer, or in a similar technical sales role.
- Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Experience preparing reports, quotations, proposals, presentations, or technical documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Experience conducting market research and supporting business development initiatives.
- Familiarity with sales processes, customer relationship management, or account support activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, or similar software tools.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to analyze customer requirements and assist in identifying appropriate products, services, or technical solutions.
