As a Senior Pricing Developer on the Technical Indication Model in R (TIMR) team, you will be comfortable writing high-quality R and JavaScript code to build maintainable actuarial applications with R shiny .
Develop new features and capabilities for actuarial applications built with R Shiny.
Customize R Shiny components using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Work closely with actuaries and other stakeholders to understand business challenges, refine requirements, and translate ideas into practical solutions.
Build and maintain automated test suites of business logic and user interface.
Adhere to software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Train business users in new features.
Help shape the technical direction of a growing suite of actuarial applications.
4+ years of work experience in software development.
Education or equivalent experience in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or related field.
Strong R skills are essential.
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is strongly preferred.
Solid software engineering fundamentals (version control, testing, code review, estimation, and the ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and technologies).
Experience developing software for technical users is a strong asset.
Working closely with P&C actuaries to learn business domain knowledge.
A collaborative developer and user environment focused on using modern engineering practices to solve user challenges.
The salary band for this position ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 . Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
