Job description
Kiwetinohk is seeking an Air Emissions Analyst to provide support on emissions abatement projects, sustainability and regulatory reporting. You will support sustainability initiatives, focused on air-related projects and reporting. Reporting to the EHS Controller, the Emissions Analyst is an integral part of our Sustainability team and works closely with both our upstream and power teams. This position is located in Calgary.

Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (GGPPA)

National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI)

Conduct comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories and analyses, focusing on emissions specific to Alberta and federal regulations.
-
Use specialized tools and software for emissions data collection and modeling, considering regional factors and federal guidelines.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess environmental impact in the Alberta context, ensuring alignment with federal regulations, and propose mitigation strategies.

Stay abreast of Alberta-specific and federal regulatory changes, as well as industry best practices in greenhouse gas management.
-
Support emissions reduction initiatives across the organization, include corporate head office, power division and business development, as required.

Engage in scenario modeling to evaluate potential impacts of different strategies on emissions reduction goals.

Prepare reports and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities in Alberta within the federal regulatory framework.

Funding program support – applications, field services and reporting.

Analyze emissions data collected against applicable regulatory requirements, prepare final reports in effective and actionable format.

Review and QA/QC data before it is reported

Support field execution activities.

Support and coordinate third-party verification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Greenhouse gas emissions – direct experience tracking, analyzing and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants for oil and natural gas wells, facilities, power plants, and other energy infrastructure. Strong knowledge of Alberta regulations and standards.-
Project management – experience managing multiple projects, setting priorities, maintaining timelines and budgets.

Contractor management – experience managing environmental consultants, monitoring performance and providing input and feedback to build a successful relationship.

Stakeholder engagement – ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and build long-term relationships.

Exceptional relationship - building capabilities and collaborative working style

Administration and organization – strong organizational skills, attention to detail and familiarity with electronic and paper filing systems internal to energy companies, the Government of Alberta and Government of Canada.

Cooperation and collaboration – Proven track record working with diverse teams and comfortable working with people in different disciplines, different cultures, different companies, contractors, stakeholders, regulators local and Indigenous communities. Ability to self-start, manage and prioritize workloads while effectively communicating and working as a valuable team member.
Qualifications
Education & Requirements:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or Environmental Science

5+ years’ experience in air emission quantification and reporting
-
Intermediate knowledge of oil and gas field activities and operations
-
Technical writing skills with an aptitude for data analysis required

Ability to interpret technical data as it relates to regulatory compliance

Proven experience in greenhouse gas analysis and emissions reporting, with a focus on Alberta's industrial landscape and federal regulations
-
Proficiency in relevant software and data analysis tools, tailored to Alberta's emission sources and federal guidelines
-
Strong understanding of Alberta-specific and federal climate change policies and regulations.

Experience in scenario modeling for emissions reduction strategies.
