National Remediation & Renovation Inc. specializes in professional asbestos abatement, mould remediation, water damage restoration, selective demolition, and residential renovations throughout Southwestern Ontario.
Unlike many restoration companies, we do not perform emergency flood response, sewage cleanup, fire damage restoration, or insurance-driven production work. Instead, we focus on delivering safe, compliant abatement services while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism.
We are currently expanding our asbestos division and are looking for dependable individuals to join our growing team.
Position Summary
As an Asbestos Abatement Technician, you will assist in safely removing asbestos-containing materials from residential and commercial properties while following Ontario regulations and industry best practices.
You will work alongside experienced technicians using specialized containment systems, respiratory protection, and decontamination procedures.
Paid training and certification opportunities are available for the right candidates.
Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos abatement according to Ontario regulations and industry standards.
- Construct containment barriers and maintain negative air pressure.
- Wear and maintain appropriate respiratory protection and personal protective equipment.
- Safely remove asbestos-containing materials including drywall, plaster, flooring, insulation, and other building materials.
- Package, label, and prepare regulated waste for disposal.
- Operate HEPA air scrubbers, negative air machines, and other specialized equipment.
- Perform HEPA vacuuming and detailed cleaning procedures.
- Assist with selective demolition and reconstruction work when required.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.
- Communicate daily job progress with crew leaders and management.
- Represent the company professionally while working in customers' homes and businesses.
Requirements
- Physically capable of performing demanding work.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Reliable transportation to our shop each morning.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence (G Licence preferred).
- Clean driving record.
- Clean criminal background check.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Previous asbestos abatement, construction, demolition, restoration, or renovation experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Paid training and industry certifications are provided.
