Job Summary
We are seeking a casual Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all food is served in a timely manner while adhering to our residents standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals for our residents and guests
