JOB DESCRIPTION
A full time Catering Manager position has become available in our Food & Beverage Catering department. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Catering, you are an enthusiastic, organized, service oriented individual who will manage the day to day operations and functions of all aspects of assigned food & beverage events including direct client and supplier management, food & beverage event planning and revenue forecasting through to the successful completion of the event.
This exciting and engaging client focused role is best suited to a highly organized, outgoing, welcoming and collaborative individual. Working both closely with other teams and independently when needed. Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends are required. The ideal candidate has worked in food & beverage and event plan operations and is now ready to expand their skill set within a high volume operation.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Guide clients through the event and food & beverage planning process within the Centre.
- Ability to manage multiple clients with attention to prioritizing competing deadlines.
- Analyze proposed client programs putting forth recommendations and advice to clients and suppliers to ensure success of assigned events.
- Consult with Chefs on menu design, custom menus, additions, or alterations.
- Ensure that event orders for all functions are prepared and issued to the client and all relevant internal departments in a timely manner.
- Upselling suppliers within the building ensuring the client receives the most out of all services offered.
- Coordinating with contractors to confirm move in/out, step up, power orders and décor set-up.
- Manage all finances related to assigned accounts including forecasting, contract reviews and payment schedules.
- Prepare food & beverage event plans for client events.
- Design floor plans to support assigned food & beverage client events.
- Ensure clarity in all communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and support Catering Coordinators/Assistant Managers for the successful execution of events.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Hospitality Management Certificate or a Degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: 5 years minimum experience in a catering/special events and client management environment.
- Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills are essential. Familiarity with other catering/event management software helpful.
- Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle significant number of assigned events while prioritizing clients’ needs.
- Numeracy and financial experience for budgeting and forecasting.
- Ability to understand and manage a wide range of customers and various expectations.
- Flexibility and the ability to solve problems in a variety of circumstances.
- Developed customer service experience essential.
- Adaptability responding to last minute changes and proactive communication with internal departments.

Pay: $82,966.00-$97,600.00 per year
