Position Title: Lifeguard Instructor
Reports To: Leisure Services Manager

Length of Position: Permanent Part Time
Summary: Provides a safe and enjoyable environment for Aquatic Center customers
Duties:
- Ensures the safety of Aquatic Center customers by enforcing policies, rules, and regulations
- Teaches Aquatics lessons. Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Administers First Aid in the event of an incident within the facility
- Cleans and maintains the guard and pool areas as well as change rooms
- Logs, records, and reports pertinent information such as water tests, time sheets, and tasks performed
- Promotes pool programming and maintains positive public relations between staff and customers

Education
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Current Pool Lifeguarding Course
- Current Water Safety Instruction Certificate
- Current First Aid and CPR C
- WHIMIS
Salary
This position receives an hourly wage of $25.61, as per 2026 CUPE rates.

An interview may be conducted with applicants who qualify in skill, ability and qualifications. Relative skill and ability may be determined by competency-based testing.
