Why is this role important?
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Delivery Enablement Office (DEO) the Senior Specialist will be responsible for the following:
Act as a JIRA subject matter expert, providing first level support for the JIRA toolset, including Confluence and T4MJ
Arm delivery teams with the right tools and training so that they’ll be able to leverage Agile principles and methods to their full potential
Educate delivery teams to use Agile tools and techniques to increase velocity and deliver value sooner
Work with the delivery teams as to how they may best adapt the Loblaw Agile toolset to deliver quickly with quality, based on the minimum viable product to meet the individual needs of each initiative
Provide guidance and council as to how delivery teams may embed the Loblaw Agile toolsets into their day-to-day activities so that they do not revert back to past processes and approaches
Help navigate common pain points, ensuring the delivery teams are fully functioning and positioned for success
Govern the application of the Loblaw Agile toolsets to ensure consistency and compliance against required standards
Assist in the onboarding and training of delivery team members
Develop highly effective working relationships based on trust; improving collaboration within portfolios, across portfolios and across divisions
Build personal ties to develop a common understanding
Promote open, candid and ongoing communication
Identify key team dynamics and differences, working to identify how to leverage what is complementary about them
Foster a culture of ongoing learning
Support the evolution of the LT roadmap, representing the corporate vision by acting as a champion for change, leading and supporting the LT team through an evolving organization, operational model, and governance structure
Skills, Experience & Education Skills
Demonstrated experience in coaching and supporting teams in the JIRA toolset adoption in a large, multifaceted organization
Expertise in JIRA set-up and configuration, including fields, drop-downs, workflows, issue types, transition screens, permissions, dashboards, etc.
Ability to support issue uploads and new project creation activities
Expertise in JIRA, Confluence and TM4J administration, including auctioning user creation requests within a defined SLA; managing user access permissions; and tracking and managing user access and licenses
Ability to document standards, guidelines and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system
Ability to investigate, resolve and validate any issues that are reported against JIRA and any associated plug-ins
Demonstrated experience in providing support to product teams on tool usage, e.g. setup of dashboards, data migration, etc.
Demonstrated sense of ownership and commitment and the ability to drive issues to closure
Capability to contribute to the decision-making needed to introduce technology and process change/transformation into an IT organization and the associated business community
A knowledge of adult learning, organizational change management and developmental approaches that will result in performance improvement is desirable
Relationship Alliance Building – A track record of building strong relationships
Planning and Organizing – Experience managing business expectations, leading project review meetings, managing and setting priorities as appropriate
Communication Skills – Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication and documentation skills
Continuous improvement – Demonstrated excellence in the areas of career progression, professional development and/or workplace innovation
3+ years of demonstrated experience leading teams in the adoption of agile toolsets within a complex multi-stakeholder organization
Certificates, Licenses or Registration
JIRA Administrator certification
Nice to have:
PMI-ACP, Cert.APM or equivalent designation
