The Role
We are seeking a motivated, well-rounded Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of client engagements, help streamline workflow processes, and work directly with local business owners. You will play a key role in onboarding new clients and sharing your knowledge to help develop our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Engagements & Compliance: Prepare Review, Compilation (Notice to Reader), Corporate Tax (T2), and Personal Tax (T1) engagements.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain excellent, trust-based working relationships with our diverse client base.
- Team Development & Process Improvement: Collaborate with the team to identify process efficiencies, share technical expertise, and mentor junior team members.
- Client Onboarding: Assist with seamlessly integrating new clients into the firm's workflow and systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Public Practice Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a Canadian public practice firm.
- Designation: Designated CPA, or actively working toward your CPA designation.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Caseware, TaxCycle, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel.
- Technical Aptitude: Exceptional computer skills with the ability to adapt to new technologies and cloud accounting tools quickly.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and balance multiple engagement files.
