As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Full-Time Heavy Duty Equipment and Truck Shop Mechanic to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be proficient at diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues for a variety of heavy equipment using appropriate tools for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Candidates must have the ability to learn independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to follow all Workplace Safety policies.

Job Description: Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes, graders, loaders, and dump trucks. This includes working on engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems, and drivetrains, as well as performing scheduled maintenance and using computerized diagnostic tools to isolate faults. The role requires a 310T or 421A certification, a valid class G license, and the ability to work safely and independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
Main Duties:
- Diagnosis and repair — Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes, graders, loaders, and dump trucks. This covers engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
- Component overhaul — Rebuilding or replacing major assemblies like engines, transmissions, differentials, final drives, and turbochargers.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes.
- Road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Must have:
- Either a 310T or 421A Certification, or preferably both
- Valid class G License
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure
- Strong communication skills and be a positive team player
- Strong work ethic
Good to have:
- Ozone Depletion Card
- Strong mechanical background with knowledge of construction equipment and associated parts
- Cat and Komatsu experience
