Job Overview
A Light Duty Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within commercial facilities. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Experience in cleaning, commercial cleaning, facilities maintenance, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to established standards
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures during cleaning activities
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient workflow
- Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning tasks as needed
Experience
- Prior experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus but not required; training will be provided for all new hires
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment
- Good communication skills and reliability are essential for success in this role
