Position: Rail Operator

We’re looking for a Rail Operator to support our client site in Fort Saskatchewan by safely and efficiently Load, switch railcars, and operate the trackmobile. If you’re IROR qualified, highly self directed, and comfortable working as a team in an active rail environment, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly — safely and without interruption.
This position follows a 5/5/4 schedule and includes irregular working hours within the assigned work block.
What You’ll Do
As a Rail Operator, you’ll be responsible for loading railcars, switching railcars such as pulling/respotting the loading rack, along with yard organization, and operating the trackmobile.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Railcar Inspections
- Hooking up and unhooking railcars for loading
- Monitoring the loading rack while product fills the railcars
- Safely organize, move, and spot railcars within the rail yard
- Pull loaded railcars from loading rack and secure them as required in storage tracks
- Spotting empty railcars at the loading rack to support loading operations
- Operate trackmobiles and switch railcars in accordance with IROR and site rules
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise and communicate effectively with site contacts
- Perform duties primarily independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain the safe use and care of hand tools and equipment
- Comply with all company policies, site requirements, and railway safety regulations

Job Requirements
- IROR qualification is a asset
- Extensive experience operating Railcar Movers and/or locomotives Or switching railcars or loading/offloading railcars
- Ability to work irregular hours within a 5 on / 5 off / 4 on schedule
- Physically capable of performing all job duties
- Competency in the use and care of hand tools
- Reliable transportation and ability to access the Fort Saskatchewan site
