Qualifications – Ontario Healthcare Facility
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Approximately 5 years of recent Canadian Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
- Current CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) certification
- Controlled Substances Certificate (University of Ottawa)
- Indigenous Services Canada Immunization Competency Exam Certificate
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- End Date: October 11, 2026
- Fly-in/fly-out assignment
- Previous rural, remote, or nursing station experience is strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working independently in a remote community with limited on-site physician support
- On-call responsibilities are applicable

Responsibilities:
Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assess, triage, and provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients in a remote nursing station setting
- Manage acute and urgent patient presentations while exercising strong clinical judgment and working independently
- Administer medications and treatments, perform emergency interventions, and monitor patient responses
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate patient information with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in on-call responsibilities while maintaining patient safety and adhering to professional and organizational standards
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.
Experience:
- Approximately 5 years of relevant Canadian Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
- Previous experience working in rural, remote communities, or nursing stations is strongly preferred
- Experience working independently in settings with limited on-site physician support is an asset
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in remote healthcare settings
