The Learning Hive is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic High School Math Tutor to join our growing team.
This role involves providing one-to-one tutoring to high school students, helping them strengthen their understanding of mathematical concepts, prepare for assessments, and build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities
Deliver individualized tutoring sessions in high school mathematics. Explain mathematical concepts using a variety of instructional approaches. Adapt lessons to each student's strengths, goals, and learning needs. Support students with homework, assignments, test preparation, and long-term skill development. Maintain professional communication with families and our educational team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Ontario high school mathematics curriculum and the ability to confidently tutor at least two of the following courses:
- Grade 9 and Grade 10 Mathematics
- Grade 11 Functions
- Grade 11 Foundations for College Mathematics
- Grade 12 Advanced Functions
- Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors.
Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a patient, encouraging, and professional approach to teaching.
The following qualifications are considered assets: Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Education, or a related field, and previous tutoring or classroom teaching experience.
Schedule
This is a part-time position. After-school and evening availability is required. Additional daytime opportunities may become available as our programs continue to grow.
