The Camp Coordinator is enthusiastic and has excellent management skills. Camp Coordinators work closely with the Program Coordinator, Counsellors, and Camper Behaviour Support staff to ensure day-to-day camp operations run smoothly. The Camp Coordinator has a high standard regarding health, safety, and skill-building.

A successful candidate is someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and English proficiency . Coding and robotics knowledge, advanced computer skills and teaching skills, are an asset.
Camp Coordinators should be punctual, patient, friendly, reliable, creative, energetic, and work well independently as well as in a group.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Camp Coordinator include but are not limited to:
Report to the Ca mp Director and participate in weekly mentorship sessions to support skill development and career growth
Oversee site operations and logistics ; main contact for head office regarding camp programs
Lead camp briefings, STEAM games, and supervise extended drop-off and pick-up with STEAM bin engagement activities ensuring activities follow a problem-based learning approach
Co-lead campers and activities integrating technology and digital skills (coding, robotics, foundational AI skills)
Train, supervise, and mentor all camp staff, including Counsellors, Camper Behaviour Support, and CITs, fostering professional growth, problem-solving, and collaboration
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, including WHMIS, hazard checks, and emergency protocols
Communicate with parents about camp or their children
Purchase approved extra camp supplies
Perform Counsellor duties in emergencies and complete administrative tasks (e.g., camp reports, follow-ups for absent campers)
Model appropriate behaviour and positive interactions
Follow daily campsite cleaning procedures
Carry out other reasonable duties requested by the Management Team
Attend mandatory training
Note : Candidates applying for any position with Camp STEAM must have a valid certificate in Standard First Aid with CPR-C from a reputable provider of first aid training as recognized by WSIB / WCB / WorkSafe BC , as well as a Police Check in the Vulnerable Sector that was issued no earlier than August 2 8 , 202 5 .
Successful Candidates Should Possess:
Previous experience working in a leadership capacity is considered an asset, but not required
Knowledge and understanding of STEAM related topics
Inspirational leadership skills with the ability to perform with minimal supervision
Customer service-oriented mindset
The ability to anticipate problems and opportunities, and develop effective solutions
Teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to take initiative
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change
Ability to work in a cross-functional team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to commute to workplace location
This position may be through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons to be eligible.
What to Expect
Although our camp season runs in July and August, we are looking for Camp Coordinators to begin training in late June 202 6 . This is a full-time, contract role that is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working with children.

$19.60
