HOURS OF WORK:
The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Responsible to the Director of Medicine responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the smooth operations of patient care on B6. She/he will manage the Medicine Ward Aide Team, providing guidance, support and will facilitate best practices with respect to providing unit level ward aide support, equipment oversight, and strong efficiency and stewardship practices for material management within PRHC. The primary role of the Manager will be to lead and support operations on B6 and the ward-aide team on a day-to-day basis. The Manager will participate in the development of policies and procedures in accordance with PRHC’s strategic initiatives and objectives, including meeting industry professional practice and quality standards. She /he will be responsible for providing clinical direction, quality improvement programs, and patient and staff safety programs. Building sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders is a key expectation of the role.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Bachelors Degree in a related field required.
Three to five years related clinical and/or management experience required.
Clinical/management experience related to In-patient Medicine preferred
WHO YOU ARE:
Membership and participation in a relevant professional organization.
Three to five years of leadership and/or management experience preferred.
Completion of CHA management courses or equivalent would be an asset.
Excellent human resources management and leadership skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and patients/families.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at a time.
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and objectives within specified time frames.
Excellent conflict resolution and change management skills.
Computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
Membership and participation in a relevant professional organization.
Experience working with LEAN methodologies for implementing complex change preferred.
Proven ability to demonstrate the Core PRHC LEADS Competencies
