Pedersen's Event Rentals is a family owned business, which has been serving customers in the Victoria area for over 35 years. If you are interested in working as part of a team to provide quality rental equipment for events all over the local area while reducing unnecessary waste and supporting charities, this may be your opportunity.
Duties:
- Accurately pack, check, and count-in orders
- Load and unload cargo from customers' vehicles and delivery vehicle. Largest is a cube van
- Fluently communicate with customers in English to confirm details and address any concerns
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately
- Follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries (you'll get help with that)
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and products to designated locations
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections (oil, tire inflation, lights, etc.)
Skills:
- Communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift items up to about 70 lbs.
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- The ability to juggle different tasks at once in a fast paced environment
- Strong spatial skills and attention to detail
- Valid class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record. No special licence required
- Experience driving in Victoria, BC
- Experience with automotive maintenance is desirable, but not required
During the busy season, shifts are Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 with some late days and weekends, but you'll get overtime pay and at least one day off per week. During slower times, shifts are Monday-Friday 9:00-4:00.
