Law Clerk / Legal Assistant – Real Estate, Family Law & Litigation
Toronto, ON | Full-Time | In Person
About the Role
Ashboure Robinson Barrister & Solicitor is a small legal practice serving clients across real estate, family law and litigation. We are looking for an experienced Law Clerk or Legal Assistant to provide support across the practice. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, can confidently manage multiple files and deadlines, and wants to broaden their experience across different areas of law.
The Opportunity
Working in a small practice provides exposure beyond one specific area of law. You'll work across real estate, family law and litigation, interact directly with clients, and be involved in files from opening through completion. For someone coming from a more specialized legal environment, this is an opportunity to build experience in additional practice areas and take on greater ownership as your experience grows.
What You'll Do
- Support files across real estate, family law and litigation matters
- Manage residential real estate transactions, including documentation, client communication and closing requirements
- Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, agreements and pleadings
- Maintain organized client files and track deadlines, outstanding documents and next steps
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, financial institutions and other parties
- Assist with client intake and gather required information and documentation
- Conduct legal research as required
- Coordinate appointments, meetings and day-to-day file administration
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Law Clerk, Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: real estate, family law or litigation
- Experience preparing, reviewing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
- Strong file management, organization and deadline management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients and external parties
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice or document management software
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality
Experience across more than one practice area is an asset. Experience with Ontario residential real estate transactions, including closings from beginning to end, is strongly preferred.
