Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Harvester Operator to join our forestry team. This role involves operating a mechanical harvester (Ponsse) to efficiently harvest woodlots while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with forestry equipment, and the ability to perform maintenance tasks as needed. Duties
- Operate harvest machinery and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during harvesting operations
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on forestry machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Use basic math skills for measuring and calibrating equipment settings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machinery and tools
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with forestry regulations
Requirements
- Experience operating forestry machinery, heavy equipment, or similar industrial equipment preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to forestry machinery and maintenance procedures
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and calibration tasks
- Strong attention to detail, safety protocols and operational procedures
- Prior experience with equipment, service and maintenance is advantageous
