We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our civil construction team. In this role, you will help install, repair, and maintain underground utility systems that support essential community infrastructure, including water, sewer, and storm drainage networks.

As a Pipe Layer, you will play a key role in the successful installation of underground utility systems on active civil construction projects.

Install underground piping systems, including storm, sanitary, and water mains, according to project specifications and grade requirements.

Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes to determine pipe alignment, depth, and layout.

Set and verify pipe grade using lasers, transit levels, and other surveying tools.

Prepare trenches through measuring, grading, compacting, and establishing stable foundations for new installations.

Install and connect various pipe materials, including PVC, concrete, HDPE, and ductile iron.

Assist with excavation, backfilling, compaction, and related site activities.

Ensure proper bedding, anchoring, sealing, and alignment of piping systems.

Conduct inspections of pipes, fittings, and completed installations to ensure quality standards are met.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.

Follow all company safety procedures, site regulations, trench safety requirements, and confined space protocols.

Collaborate with equipment operators, labourers, foremen, and other crew members to maintain productivity and project schedules.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction.

Experience installing underground utilities, including water, sewer, and drainage systems.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, site plans, and survey markings.

Experience using lasers or transit levels to establish and verify pipe grade and alignment.

Knowledge of trenching, excavation, shoring, and safe work practices.

Strong understanding of trench preparation, grading, compaction, and bedding requirements.

Experience working with PVC, concrete, HDPE, and ductile iron pipe systems.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate professionally on site.

Civil construction experience involving active excavation and underground utility installation.

Familiarity with quality control inspections and testing procedures for installed pipe systems.

Safety training related to Fall Protection, Confined Space Awareness, WHMIS, or similar construction certifications.

This position is based throughout the Horseshoe Bay to Langley corridor, with the majority of work located in Langley and the Greater Vancouver area.

Typical hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Includes a paid 30-minute break

Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs

Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Regular lifting and handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs or more.

Frequent work around trenches, excavation equipment, compactors, and active construction sites.

Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
