Position Summary
The Events and Fundraising Assistant supports outreach events, volunteer engagement, and fundraising initiatives and marketing. This role strengthens OKC’s community presence through event coordination, program promotion, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and attend outreach events (e.g., Teddy Bear Picnic, Speedway events, ticket selling)
- Serve as primary contact for community events; liaise with volunteers, partners, and staff.
- Coordinate logistical needs, including insurance certificates through the Business Manager.
- Help create marketing campaigns and support in promoting through social media, ads, etc.
- Promote OKC programs through outreach and presentations.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise volunteers.
- Support fundraising opportunities connected to outreach.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in staff meetings/committees.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Business and/or Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in family/community programs.
- Experience coordinating events and outreach initiatives.
- Excellent communication, organization, and public speaking skills.
Conditions of Employment
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, clear abstract, and $2M liability coverage.
- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- First Aid/CPR and Safe Food Handling Certification.
- Flexibility for evenings/weekends and fundraising participation.
