The Impact You'll Make
As a Construction Welding Ground Crew Member at D&E Structures Ltd, you’ll be an essential part of our on-site welding operations. Your role ensures that every weld is supported, every structure is secure, and every project meets our uncompromising safety and quality standards. You’ll work closely with our welders and site supervisors to keep operations running smoothly—helping transform raw steel into the strong, safe structures our clients depend on.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, position, and secure steel components for welding according to project blueprints and specifications.
- Assist welders by handling tools, equipment, and materials on the ground.
- Operate and maintain welding support equipment such as grinders, clamps, and cutting torches.
- Perform pre-weld and post-weld clean-up, including grinding, brushing, and inspecting joints.
- Follow all D&E Structures Ltd safety protocols, including PPE use and site safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with welders, supervisors, and other crew members to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Assist in moving and positioning heavy steel components using rigging equipment or forklifts (if certified).
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in construction, welding support, or a related trade is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings or instructions.
- Strong physical stamina and comfort working in outdoor, all-weather environments.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Certification in WHMIS, First Aid, or forklift operation is an advantage.
