Our client, a leading manufacturing firm is currently looking to hire a Manufacturing Operator on a long-term basis to join their growing team!
Responsibilities:
Production
· Production of liquid batches and cast parts as per customer requirements and Company quotas.
· Document/log all raw materials consumed, waste generated and production information daily.
· Be knowledgeable about the handling properties of raw materials used.
· Identify and report quality issues of raw materials and/or finished goods
immediately and cooperate with corrective action instructions.
· Load and unload ovens while being exposed to heat.
· Ability to operate all equipment and machinery appropriately and safely.
· Participate in Company inventory processes and proactively report issues to the Production Supervisor and/or the Plant Manager.
Material Handling
· Pick, stage, and present raw materials required for production according to work orders.
· Lifting material that can weigh up to 60 LBS repetitively and non repetitively
· Proper storage and handling of finished goods on inventory shelves for picking
· Order picking of finished goods from inventory shelves
· Immediately alert the Production Supervisor of any issues, such as low inventory or damaged containers.
Packaging
· Package finished Liquids batches and Cast Parts product as per requirements and customer specifications
· Include supplementary items and/or instructions as per order specification
· Ensure packaging labelling is correct and complete
· Assist Logistics Coordinator with wrapping and preparing skids as necessary
· General
· Follow all Company safety procedures and escalate any health and safety issues to management, including near-miss reports.
· Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times and participate in timely corrective action to ensure expected cleanliness and organization are sustained.
· Be engaged with the company’s 5S, Lean and continuous improvement program.
· Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager
Qualifications:
· Completion of a Secondary school diploma
· WHMIS knowledge
· Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs repetitively and non repetitively
· Must be comfortable wearing a respirator while performing oven duties
· 1+ years of experience working in industrial production
· 1+ years of experience with logistics/shipping receiving
· 1+ years of experience participating in inventory management processes
· Counterbalance forklift experience is an asset
· Knowledge of 5S/Lean Principles is an asset
· Strong awareness and adherence to health and safety processes and procedures
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong decision-making skills with a bias for safety, quality and action
· Ability to self-motivate and organize priorities to ensure customer and Company needs are being met
