If you love merchandising and working on new concepts we are hiring merchandisers for a contract job starting November 18, 2024 ending November 29, 2024. This is a day shift, Monday to Friday, located in Etobicoke, ON
Experience
- 2+ years experience merchandising in a big box, specialty or small format retail operations.
- Ability to read floor plans and clear understanding of planogram systems and executing to plan.
- Understanding of brand standards as they relate to merchandising.
- Labeling shelves with store generated price tags and installing in-store signage.
Time Management and Communication
- Proven ability to work on project-based deadlines.
- Ability to readily adapt to project scope as needed, you're fine if things don't necessarily go as planned.
- Able to work both independently and in large team environments.
- You are super-reliable. When you say you'll be somewhere or do something - you do it.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effectively communicate on site with team members and clients working in a professional/respectful manner in both a closed and operating store environment.
- Coordination and problem-solving skills - Set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary.
Role
- Following instructions from the Team Lead and assist in re-merchandising and resetting store/jobsite.
- Following supplied planograms and ensuring all sets are set exactly to the POG.
- Assisting in display set up throughout the store/jobsite.
- Work with both the merchandising team as well as the fixture installation team to ensure store fixtures including, but not limited to shelving and racking elevations are set to planogram.
- Unloading inventory and receiving deliveries specifically related to project requirements.
- Packing and labeling inventory as required for project scope.
- Working as a team and following direction to execute all parts of the project as required.
- Ensure daily goals are achieved and communicating when there are issues that need to be resolved.
- Follow established timelines for project.
- Actively execute any additional required tasks, including administrative ones as required.
- Manage and organize time in order to meet tight deadlines. Where potential conflicts or timeline issues arise, provide early warning and update Site Supervisor, suggest methods for resolution.
- Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, removal of garbage and debris to ensure work area/job site is prepared for new set-up, store operations and safety.
- Comply with the company's H&S Program, ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to. This includes filling out appropriate forms per the H&S Policy, ensure PPE is worn at all times, comply with Legal Regulations. Following direction from the Site Supervisor for all safety related issues. Ensuring local labour and fellow employees are following H&S policies.
Additional Requirements
- Flexible schedule required as we work around our clients' schedules.
- Health & Safety focused.
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle.
- Must have steel toe work boots, safety knife, work gloves and a measuring tape.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to stand, walk, lift and bend for the duration of the shift.
- Able to climb ladders.
- Own a basic tool set and can work hand and power tools competently & safely.
Additional strengths, but not required
- Under guidance of others, assisting with moving or reconfiguring store fixtures including, gondola, warehouse racking, shelving and display systems.
- Previous experience using inventory management systems/scanners.
- Working knowledge of common software and internet applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- WHMIS, Aerial, Forklift and Working at Heights Certification.
- Able to use a pump truck if required.
