The Job
Accounting Specialist
This roll will help support our tax practice (preparation of compilation engagements along with corporate and personal tax returns), as well as support our bookkeeping practice (monthly managed bookkeeping).
Duties
Tax Practice (compilation engagements and tax return)
- Compile data provided by client
- Organize data in Caseware
- Produce financial statements
- Use financial statements to create corporate tax return
- Prepare personal tax returns
Bookkeeping practice
- Bookkeeping with app integration (XERO, QBO, DEXT, etc)
- Monthly reconciliations
- Internal financial reporting
- Monthly sales tax returns
Software
- Caswere
- Taxcycle
- Quickbooks Online
- XERO
- Dext
Desired experience
- Experience preparing compilation engagements along with tax returns - REQUIRED
- Experience with Quickbooks Online and/or XERO - AN ASSET
- Experience with other connected apps (Receipt Bank, Hubdoc, etc) - AN ASSET
Must have qualities in a successful candidate
- Communication – candidates must have good written and verbal communications skills and the confidence to communicate without clients without oversight
- Self starter – candidates are expected to understand job requirements and perform duties without prompting
- Technical knowledge- candidates are expected to have a reasonably good understanding of accounting and tax concepts.

Full-time and part-time positions will be considered
