Join our Earth Sciences team as a geomorphologist to participate and support environmental impact studies and engineering work planning. The position is based either in Ville St-Laurent or Longueuil (with telework).
Your main tasks will be to participate in the realization of photo-interpretation studies of surface materials, geomorphological processes, drainage, and land stability, to carry out the search for borrow materials, studies related to erosion, sediment dynamics or the presence of permafrost. You will frequently participate in field campaigns in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
Depending on the needs, you may also be called upon to contribute to the activities of the Geotechnical group, notably by participating in the supervision of drilling work, by carrying out geotechnical and environmental soil sampling or any other tasks required for the group's activities.
Research and acquisition of reference data (aerial photographs, LiDAR, thematic maps, previous study reports, etc.)
Photointerpretation and mapping of surface deposits and landforms, geomorphological processes and drainage,
Identification of erosion zones and characterization of sediment dynamics,
Identification and exploration of potential borrow sources,
Participation in field data collection,
Participation in the processing and analysis of geomorphological, stratigraphic, and climatic data,
Participation in the writing of study reports,
Participation in the preparation and writing of service offers and in the team's business development activities.
Bachelor's degree in physical geography, geology, geological engineering or any other relevant discipline related to earth sciences,
Master's degree in a field related to geomorphology (an asset),
Knowledge of ArcGIS & Global Mapper software,
Good knowledge of soil description.
