The Engineering Services group in Sudbury, ON provides mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the commercial, institutional, recreational and multi-residential market. Our clients and projects and varied and diverse. The office is a high energy workspace where we work closely as a team to meet the requirements and deadlines of our clients. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Technologist with minimum 10 years’ experience in Electrical design for many types of buildings. This is a position that will allow for growth in leadership of an electrical design team.
Your role within the team

Provide electrical systems design leadership and project management for design mandates throughout the project lifecycle.

Review, understand and clearly communicate all relevant client requirements, provide design options and recommendations to meet those requirements.

Develop strategies to Identify and manage project risks and potential liabilities.

Lead and actively participate in, and document, meetings with clients, contractors and other consultants.

Prepare design briefs, schematics, project documents and perform all required engineering calculations.

Lead production all required engineering documents in schematic design, design development and working drawings.

Work with contractors to quickly resolve onsite issues and ensure contractor’s conformance to design requirements.

The ideal candidate
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technologist. Professional Engineering License, or eligible to be registered, in the Province of Ontario.

8-10+ years’ experience in the electrical consulting or construction industries. Have a solid understanding of building systems engineering, preferably for educational, health care, offices, municipal infrastructure, and commercial facilities.

Demonstrate experience building and maintaining long term relationships with clients (i.e. understanding client objectives, anticipating and meeting client needs, and growing the business).

Computer Skills – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills in English. French is an asset but not required.
