Quality Control Inspector - Milton, Start ASAP

A well-established manufacturer in the can and packaging industry is hiring a Quality Control Inspector. Got a sharp eye for detail and zero tolerance for "close enough"?

Pay: $20.00–$24.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM — no weekends, no rotating shifts
Type: Full-time, permanent
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
What this role is
You're the person who decides what ships and what doesn't. You'll run routine tests, gauging, and inspections on finished product, components, and materials at various stages of production, splitting your time between the floor and the Quality Lab. You work directly with the Quality Control Manager, and when you flag something outside spec, the team adjusts.
The range reflects experience. Come in with one solid year and the fundamentals below, and there's room to grow into the top of it as you take on more.
What you'll do
- Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments and gauges at various stages of production
- Record test information accurately
- Identify, hold, and evaluate non-conforming material
- Make recommendations to operators and the production manager when process adjustments are needed
- Ensure quality procedures are followed and maintain all required quality documentation
- Assist with batch documentation and labels
- Assist in the Quality Lab with sample testing as required
- Notify the Quality Control Manager as soon as inspection data goes outside acceptable limits
What you bring
We're open on the industry you come from, packaging, metal forming, automotive, plastics, electronics, machining and general industrial manufacturing all count. Packaging is a plus, not a requirement. What isn't flexible is the technical skill set:
- Minimum one (1) year of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Education and/or credentials in quality control or a related field
- Hands-on use and understanding of precision measuring instruments and gauges
- Ability to accurately read measuring devices, diagrams, product specifications, and test procedures
- Strong skills in statistics, Excel, and data analysis tools
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Legally authorized to work full time in Canada
More experience means more pay, candidates with two or more years in quality, or a background in packaging or can manufacturing, will be considered at the upper end of the range.
Please read before applying: this is a technical measurement and inspection role. Experience in food preparation, food service, or food handling does not qualify, and neither does purely chemical or clinical lab work. We're looking for dimensional and mechanical inspection of manufactured product.
Asset: Spanish, for communicating with members of the production team.
