JOB PURPOSE
This position provides a great opportunity to be a part of our highly motivated and driven engineering team, that is developing and manufacturing a variety of artificial lift products, including: endless rod, guided sucker rod, progressing cavity pumps and automation equipment.
Provide technical support to design engineers/specialists in a range of activities including process improvement, product development, safety, R&D testing, CAD drawings, and part number generation with BOMs and Routings calculation.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work within a team driven environment
- Develop good understanding of R&D testing equipment, processes, and quality requirements.
- Participate in manufacturing process development for PC Pump products.
- Design, plan, conduct and document custom tests upon gaining a clear understanding of test objectives, targets, and scope from discussions with materials engineers
- Gather and perform detailed analysis of test results utilizing spreadsheets. Summarize results/findings/conclusions via technical reports and presentations.
- Participate in PC Pump engineering projects by contributing to all stages and aspects of projects, such as project creation, lab testing activities and project documentation.
- Coordinate, monitor and collect data from trials in manufacturing floor. Collaborate with senior engineers in statistical analysis of manufacturing process data.
- Organize, summarize, and present results to senior engineers and management through spreadsheets, written summaries and presentations.
- Be proactive in conducting relevant literature review, finding new material suppliers, and investigating and recommending novel test and analysis methods
- Develop operating procedures and work instructions
- Effectively interact and coordinate work with other engineers, technologists, technicians, and production operators
- Carry out housekeeping activities of the lab area and participate in lab 5S activities
- Assist in new product development part numbers/classifications, bill of materials, travel documents and other related technical information
- Create and maintain production BOMs and RTGs in the ERP system and estimate manufacturing costs
- Create and organize 2D drawings for production use
- Follow corporate ECR/ECN process for design/process changes
- Support product inspections and failure analysis
- Comply with all industry, regulatory, and company standards, regulations and policies
- Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness within the manufacturing facility through participation in safety meetings, JSA reviews, hazard assessments, and safety drills

Qualifications and requirements
Qualifications include:
- Min. 4 years Post-Secondary Degree in a technical field; mechanically inclined and hands-on
- Designation/Eligibility with the provincial technical association (e.g. P.Eng, EIT) is preferred
- Experience with ProE/Creo and/or proficiency in 2D drawings and 3D layouts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Flexible in hours of work understanding that deadlines need to be met; ability to work well under pressure, individually, and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Strong mathematical and technical skills; able to analyze problems and strategize solutions
- Able to take initiative to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost reductions
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- A physical assessment & fit for duty testing is required as this is a safety sensitive position.
Working Conditions
- This position will require about 50% of the time in the office and 50% of the time at various manufacturing workstations and R&D test area that involves physical labor. No travel is required for this position.
