Who We Are
Pearl Morissette is located in Jordan, Ontario, on the edge of the Niagara region, a historically agricultural region in southwestern Ontario. Our project began as a low intervention vineyard and winery, and has now grown to include a nationally-recognized restaurant called Restaurant Pearl Morissette (RPM), a bakery called RPM Bakehouse, and a regenerative garden (Garden Pearl Morissette) to support these two projects and the local community.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barista who embodies the art of coffee and exceptional hospitality. In this role, you will craft high-quality espresso and coffee beverages using manual espresso machines while creating memorable experiences for every guest. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates precision and attention to detail, and balances efficiency with warmth and professionalism.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and serve espresso and specialty coffee drinks with consistency, precision, and care using manual espresso machines.
- Must be versed in grind adjustments, brew ratios, and extraction techniques.
- Deliver personalized, attentive service, addressing guest questions, preferences, and concerns with professionalism and warmth.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café environment that reflects the brand’s premium quality.
- Follow café procedures, health, and safety standards, ensuring operational excellence.
- Take orders accurately and handle payments according to company policies.
- Engage guests with product knowledge and make recommendations that enhance their café experience.
- Participate in setup, cleaning, and inspection tasks to uphold café presentation standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and superior guest service.
- Assist with additional duties as needed to support the team and maintain a high standard of service.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with manual espresso machines and third-wave coffee techniques ~ 1-2 years experience.
- Knowledge of coffee origins, flavor profiles, and brew methods.
- Strong understanding of food handling, sanitation, and café operational standards.
- Exceptional guest service skills with a professional, approachable demeanor.
- Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Physical ability to manage equipment, handle coffee supplies, and sustain energy during shifts.
- Receptive to coaching and feedback, with a passion for learning and growth.

Hours of Work / Compensation
- Part-time or full-time hourly position
- Flexible schedule: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays
