About Prairie Asbestos
At Prairie Asbestos, we take pride in keeping our community safe through expert environmental and hazardous material management. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a sharp, driven individual who wants to step behind the curtain and learn how a small business operates, scales, and thrives.
The Opportunity: Learn How a Business Really Runs
This isn't your average office job. We are looking for a Right-Hand Business Apprentice—someone who wants to work directly alongside the business owner to learn every facet of Prairie Asbestos.
If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong work ethic, and a desire to understand operations, sales, marketing, and client management from the ground up, this role is for you. Think of this as a real-world business apprenticeship with a direct impact on our daily operations.

- Operations & Scheduling: Learn how field work gets organized, dispatched, and managed efficiently from start to finish.
- On-Site Asbestos Testing: Learn how to conduct site visits, proper sampling techniques, safety protocols, and sample delivery for laboratory analysis.
- Small Abatement Projects: Gain practical experience running small asbestos containment and removal jobs safely and efficiently.
- Equipment & Safety Operations: Understand containment setups, PPE requirements, and provincial environmental safety standards firsthand.
- Sales & Client Relations: Shadow customer interactions, handle inbound inquiries, prepare quotes, and learn the art of closing deals in the environmental services industry.
- Marketing & Business Growth: Help manage local marketing initiatives, digital presence, and customer retention strategies.
- Financial & Admin Fundamentals: Assist with invoicing, job costing, permits, and general business administration.
- Process Improvement: Spot bottlenecks and work directly with leadership to build better systems that help us scale.
Who You Are
- Curious & Eager to Learn: You don't need a decade of experience, but you do need an appetite to learn every corner of a business.
- Resourceful Problem-Solver: When you hit a roadblock, your first instinct is to figure out a solution.
- Strong Communicator: You are comfortable talking to customers, contractors, and field staff over the phone, via email, and in person.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: You can manage multiple moving parts without letting important details slip through the cracks.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable learning AI, new software, scheduling systems, and basic digital tools quickly.
